wow, what a huge amount of a single client

1.
can you check out if it is a peercache-download ? look at your statistics -> download -> ports

2.
you can get the logline when you manually stop the clients download.

3. can you pm me the link to the file ? Then I'll test it for my own.

Hi, firstly thank you guys to think about other users and open this thread. I've using this mod since when I have been here and I very enjoyed. I wonder that, is this mod have some kind of crash with Netlimiter 1.30? 'cause when I try to use this mod with Netlimiter 1.30, my computer going slown down and I'm looking to memory use in %99 :) but, in Netlimiter 2.0 or in the other versions there is no such a problem with this mod. have you any idea? thank you..

Xman 13. April 2006 18:00

@Toddblah
I never tested netlimiter.

@Isengrim
I tested the file and my speed was shown correctly. I also checked out the code and it should be impossible to get different speeds. Can you give me some answers to my last questions ?

KAD always got less resources than other mod

KAD, when i used neo mod, i could got about
Users: 2,494,220
Files: 960,219,760

but when shift to xtreme mod, kad show only 1/3 of overall resouces of neo mod
may it because neo mod has a AUX port especially for KAD?

(my connection is not firewalled in both cases.)

but xtreme are more stable

Xman 14. April 2006 10:30

I didn't touch the kad code, because mods aren't allowed to change anything with this code.
The values of users and files can differ from time to time and you can't trust them because it's only an estimation.

Isengrim 15. April 2006 22:43

Xman? What was the question you were thinking about?

Xman 15. April 2006 23:21

I mean this:
http://www.emule-web.de/board/105526-post106.html

I need a verboselogline when the downloadsessions starts and when it ends. And I need some Info if you have peercache-downloads.

Isengrim 16. April 2006 01:12

Peercache 0.0%

Hello there!

First of all, thanks very much for the great mod - been using it for quite some time, and nothing comes even close to it in terms of a balance between reliability, resource economy and speed.

Just wanted to make a small feature request - downloading from P2P involves some risk, and a feature seen in some other mods would be very nice to have - namely, running an antivirus check upon completing a download.

Most anti-virus scanners now have a command-line regime, so implementation would be extremely easy - just running a user-selected program with user-defined keys and the downloaded file name as a parameter.

Thanks in advance, and keep up with Great work!

PS: Oh, and a small thing, which *might* be offtopic here, but I don't really know where to go with it: where can I find the description of the main conceptual differences between Xtreme and ScarAngel? That'd be very interesting to know. Thanks again!

Xtreme v5.1 Slow startup and random closing

I have just discovered Emule-Xtreme and am having some problems when I start it.
Have WinXP SP2 on AMD 1800+ with 768mb of ram.
It appears to be reading some sort of file at startup of Xtreme which is taking 10minutes plus to read before it tries to connect. Once connected I'm amazed how little resources it uses compared with the overheads of the normal Emule 0.47a.
Xtreme closes randomly for some unknown reason could be after 10mins or longer. There is no fault or conflict reported it simply disappears and I have to go through the slow startup again each time.
What settings should I alter to speed up the loading of Xtreme and also stop it closing when it feels like it.

mancsaint

Thx in anticipation

PS.This looks like an excellent version of Emule, if I can get it to run properly.

Xman 25. April 2006 11:00

does emule hash files at startup ? (you can see it at the log). This must be done after a crash.
the synchronization of AICH-hashes can also take a lot of time. Go to preferences->files and disable "remember unused AICH hashes".

You are the first person which have the problem that emule disappear. I don't have an idea why this happens.

Slow startup and random closing

Thx Xman for you prompt reply.
I already had AICH hashing turned off as unfortunately was the log. I will turn on the logging and retry things.
I suppose Xtreme was treating the self closures as a crash and consequently rehashing at startup.
I am about to change systems in the very near future so will persist.
This may solve my problems, if not, you'll hear from me again

Many thx again

Hello!
I have one qvestion:
Will UPnP be added to future versions?

Xman 10. May 2006 22:59

The problem is, I have no experience with UPnP and I don't have routers for testing.. all what I can do is copying from someone other... maybe I'll do it in the future.

SVK 11. May 2006 07:44

Why maybe?Good idea copying from someone other! When in the future?
Thank you Xman !
P.S I know you can do this!
