Emule to Emule Xtreme
 

My native language is Spanish. I have a hard time to guest how fill the register form. Please excuse any incorrection in my writing English.
My question is: Can I transfer my credits in Emule to Emule Xtreme? If yes...How can I do that? :i:

You have to copy the files cryptkey.dat and preferences.dat from the config-folder into the config-folder of your Xtreme. If you want to see what you have shared with other clients you should do the same with clients.met.

hi there,
after trying to understand german i was finally able to register.
i have a problem with my xtreme mod.
i updated the version to 5.1.1 but it tells me that all the servers are full and i can't connect to any of them.
it worked fine yesterday but all today it has been doing this, I need some help.

check out your firewall. Maybe you have to re-assigen the rights for the new emule.exe.

i did,the kad network connects no problem but it's just the servers that doesn't connect.

are you sure to use a valid server.met ? The server.met provided with the binary-packet of Xtreme 5.1.1 should be ok.

heres what i get, i updated the server list from emule.it and left the first 5-6 with most files shared.

try BigBang it has most times free capacity. If this doesn't help I don't have any more idea.

well this is my question:

Today I´ve installed mode extreme and it gets conection with donkey and kad but after 3 minutes this message appears:

VISUAL MICROSOFT C++
RUN TIME ERROR
ABNORMAL

so I have to close the mule and start it again.

Could anyone pls help me with it?

which version do you use ? If you are using the latest version (5.1.1) then I can't help you, because this is the first report about such an error, and I don't have any idea what was going wrong.

hmm.. try the offical emule and look if the problem remain.

This isn't a specific Xtreme problem, I think, but related to general bandwidth settings. I'm at a HomePNA connection with which I can upload at 40 or 50 kb/s with other soft than Emule. If I let Emule upload at 10 kb it freezes my net almost totally. I have to keep it at 8 kb. I'm wondering what settings should I tweak to upload a little faster in Emule without killing my connection? Max. connections, sources? I have a Lowid because of the HomePNA firewall (which I can do nothing about).

i had a strange problem with the new version 5.1.2 and had to return back to v. 5.1.1 to resolve it. After installing the v. 5.1.2, i started getting LowId from all of the Big Bang servers whereas this was not the case with the other servers. Since I was certain that I didn't have such a problem with the older version (and with the same connection settings), I returned back to v. 5.1.1 and voila: I am getting HighId again!

that's because of ipfilter v 106 which is included in 5.1.2. If you want to connect to bigbang you only have to use the ipfilter.dat of 5.1.1 (v 105). For more info please read this thread:

Zero upload/downloads with 5.1.2Xtreme
 

Downloaded the 5.1.2 Xtreme & after approx 60secs I am getting 0k ups/0k downs.Haven't changed any port settings from other Emule versions,router setttings or any form of security.The 0/0 lasts approx the same time & then starts to rise again.Speed is 512/128 ADSL,Dlink router/modem.
Asus m/board w/LAN
XP2400 w/1g of ram
ATI 9550 256mb video.
Must say though,it is a great mod other than the above problems.Which BTW make it useless.

you mean, you first have upload but some time later all go down to 0 ? Maybe you killed the router.

One important note: don't connect to a greyed out server, because 1. this servers are ip-filtered and you only get low-id. 2. there is a bug in Xtreme(and other mods) when conneting to such a server.

Thanks Xman but i'm not connecting to a greyed out server.Xtreme does this with whichever server I connect to.You mention though killing the router.Is this through too many connections or another cause?Am currently using the Warezfaw mod .exe in with the latest version of the official Emule files.Have not had any problems running this.Probably only my setup but would just like to figure out why.

you should describe your problem more exactly. And what's about Kad ? Does it work ?

Ok,Kad works for about 2-3mins,then drops uploads & d'loads to zero.Kad has done this with every version of Emule I have ever tried.
My problem with Xtreme is it connects(high ID),loads up the sources,then about 3mins into the session my uploads & d/loads are reading zero.This stage lasts about 30secs - 1min,then the speeds slowly return.Mostly the uploads only.About 3mins later,the same thing happens.0k up/0k down.Have lowered the Max connections & the Max sources.Have tried with a smaller queue.None of this has made the problem any better.Looking on the stats graph,it is always around the 3min mark,that this problem happens.
My stable setup at the moment is:
Warezfaw mod Emule.exe added to the official Emule 0.47a files.By this I mean I just replaced the .exe with the .exe from the mod.Peak speeds tonight were 11Kb up/23Kb down,& reasonably stable.These speeds are about the average I usually get.

Your router obviously restart.
Whats your settings for "max. new connections in 5 min." and "max. half open connections"?
And the most important thing, do you get a new IP, the old IP or is there no IP change?
(only for note;-) you can look up this in you log)

it's either a hardware-problem or a problem of your isp. Can you enable the verbose-log and tell me the message when the upload-slots are beeing droped ?

Will enable the verbose & will try to pick the exact message.Just further to the hardware point you made,what exactly do you mean?

Max conns in 5secs=30
Max half open =50
Static IP,so it never changes.
BTW these are settings that have been used with previous versions & have been pretty stable.Kad has always been the same result.Won't run for more than about 1-2mins without 0k/0k.This is the first Xtreme that i've used though.

this means you have problems with udp-packets. Don't know what could be exactly the hardwareproblem... but you should try to use other hardware and try to connect to internet without a router.

Just test your Emule with 20 max half open connections.
Do your router indicate a restart? For example all lights blink up or something else. When yes, watch for it when your DL is reduced to 0.
And as Xman says, try to get online without a router.

Why the 3.0 KB/s minimum upload limit? I can only upload 2.5 KB/s.

sorry to say that.. but in my eyes nobody with less than 3 kb/s uploadcapacity should use emule. Xtreme mod is designed for a higher upload.

I think the developers of [ae]mule disagree

Its possibility to accept floating point limits and to monitor (almost?) all trafic through the bottleneck - modem is what makes it the best mod for such a comuter.

Xtreme already use floating point values... but you can't go below the minimum upload-speed.

And that's precisely what my problem is.
I'd change it myself, except I don't have anything to compile the sources with.
How about lowering the minimum a bit, the 1:3 ratio will still be mandatory so only those that really must will set it that low.

am a new user. I have found that i receive the message in the server page that my upload settings too high. how to correct this. Also, in my transfer/statistics page i always find that the upload data is far higher than any download speeds.

I am using the 5.2 beta4 version (noticed today the release of the beta5). Sorry for posting this here but since the thread about the beta is in german I don't know if I could post it there...

I don't know if my problem is anything related with the beta, probably not, but it appears that the menu option 'Download Limit' is not working, because I set for the value I want and the downloads are always above for a great margin.

I noticed that with the original emule it only works for values >1 kB/s so I set it to 2, but with your mod it appears to not being working... am I doing or considering something wrong?

I need this option working because I have free download for a part of the day and in the rest of it I want to limit the downloads but still being able to upload. Currently I stop all the downloads and keep the emule just uploading...

Side Note: I can follow the other threads using babelfish translator, but in the thread of the beta it does not work. I believe it's because those boxes with a scroll bar that you use in the posts... It would be nice if you could stop using it... :-)

One more question: is not possible for you to consider the download limit even when that option is set?
I know it seems a contradictory idea, but for me that schedule the limitless download for the period between 1:00 and 8:00 and to 2kB/s for the rest of the day, I would like that option to be set. It's bad have to wait until 1:00 to activate it and then get up at 8:00 to deactivate it... :-)
I set my upload limit to 12kB/s but sometimes the upload is under this value, and I would like to increase my download rate activating that option.
Will it be very hard to implement? Apparently is just letting the download limit being considered always...

hmm.. it's a special situation for you. But I don't want to change the current way of working, because:
- for most people it is sufficient
- don't want to makes things more complicate

I understand your position, but in fact i believe it's more simple the way i asked, because if we have an option which says that limits something, I think it should work that way...

Unless you were talking about keeping the code simple, there I agree with you. I'm also a programer and know what you are talking...

But thanks anyway, I only asked because it appeared to be a simple think to write, like an if else or something...

I have not yet verified, but it seems that the download was not affected by turning the option off, so maybe it's not even a problem.
